We are not one of those traditional schools who are very strict towards children. We want our students to have fun and love dancing as well as learning the techniques of dance.
We base our class plans on themes that the children can connect with. We teach the techniques of dance in a fun and innovative way, by using different imagery to help the children remember the movement and understand what we are asking for. From the “lollipop” 5th position arms, to the long “French fry” tendu legs. Every term we change our theme to what is current for all of our under age 5 classes.
is Jungle Book! The story is about a young boy called Mowgli who lives in the jungle. At the beginning he was founded by a panther called Bageera, We will tip toe around the jungle and also leaps over the great blue rivers looking for Mowgli just like Bagheera. Once we have found him we take him to the Peace Rock where are the animals come together to drink from the lake. Here will discover the movements of all types of animals such as the graceful poise of the peacock, the large stamps of the rhino, the sneaky walks of the tiger and much much more. After a quick drink we soon discover Kaa the snake, we learn how to twist and turn high in the trees and low on the ground. Later on we encounter the lovable bear baloo and help him gather his honey by jumping high in the jungle. Lastly we meet King Louie and learn a fun dance to his famous song,“ be like you.”
